Privacy Policy Sennheiser Smart Control (hereinafter called "App")

With the download, installation and use of the App, personal data is created and made available via Google Firebase by Google LLC. Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG, Am Labor 1, 30900 Wedemark, Germany (hereinafter referred to as "Sennheiser") has no access to this personal data.

Prior to download, installation and use of the App, please carefully read the following notes and information on how and what purpose your personal data is collected and processed.

Further information can be obtained by reading the privacy policy of the platform from which you download the App. Under the heading of "Data Protection", "Privacy Policy" or a similar heading addressing the topic of data protection, this will inform you about which data is directly collected there and how it is processed. As the provider of the app, Sennheiser has no influence on data processing by the respective platform providers.

Notes on data collection and processing and on firmware updates

The following information is needed to establish a connection to a device: Bluetooth name of the product, Bluetooth MAC address (Android), BLE UUID (iOS). This data is required for the operation of the product and is not transferred to Sennheiser or companies commissioned by Sennheiser and is not processed.

If the device on which the app is installed is connected to the Internet, the following data is automatically transferred to and processed by Sennheiser servers in order to provide and transfer suitable firmware updates: hardware identifier, hardware revision number, firmware version of the product, type of the operating system (Android, iOS), version of the operating system and version of the app. The data will only be used as specified and will not be stored permanently.

If you do not want this data to be transferred and processed, do not connect to the Internet.

Installation and use:

Sennheiser itself does not collect and process any personal data using Google Firebase (for details see below). Therefore, Sennheiser does not transfer personal data to third parties.

The data is processed in an anonymous form only to determine statistical characteristics regarding the use of the App, the distribution of the App and the identification of causes of errors, as well as the provision and maintenance of the App and the improvement of the functions of the App. At no time does the data processed permit direct association with any specific individual. The following information is processed:

  • Frequency, type and duration of use of the App
  • Settings made on the device such as Equalizer, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) mode or other device-specific settings
  • Type of end device on which the App is running
  • Operating system and version number
  • Error reports in case of a crash

  • Additional information processed when using products of the Sennheiser Momentum 3 series:

    • Operating time, number of usage cycles
    • Period of use of the various ANC programs and number of switchovers between programs
    • Accumulated charging time and number of charging cycles
    • Accumulated time in telephone mode and number of switchovers to telephone mode
    • Accumulated connection time of two devices and number of connections of an additional device
    • Duration of audio playback and number of starts

You may opt out of the processing of your personal data by Google Firebase, revoke it at any time with future effect, or accept it by adjusting your settings in the "Privacy" section of the App menu.
