Good Boy Daisy was formed in 2015 by identical twins Hallie and Dylinn Mayes out of Scottsdale, AZ. The band rapidly grew in popularity after playing a local showcase in February 2016 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ. With a lead guitarist that had prior commitments, they called on their close friend Molly Mashal to play this well-attended showcase. The result was a show that put Good Boy Daisy on the map of “who’s who” within the local scene, and landed Molly a permanent spot as lead guitarist. Two-time finalists in 2015 and 2016 in Alice Cooper’s Proof is in the Pudding, a premier battle of the bands contest in the Phoenix Valley.
The band later returned to the Marquee Theatre to headline The Desert Frostover in December of 2017, which featured over 20 regional bands. Other regional events around the southwest include Arizona’s Pot of Gold, Viva Phoenix, as well as the Las Vegas and Phoenix Rock ‘n Roll Marathons. The band’s unique style combines the raw, straightforward approach of the 60’s with high strung guitar sounds of 90’s grunge. The result is a mesmerizing post-grunge sound uniquely Good Boy Daisy. Their debut EP “It’s About Time” was released on New Year’s Day 2018. The EP is complete with a wall of signature guitars, amazing three part harmonies and powerful lead female vocals.
