Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the Comply™ Series – Sport, Isolation, and Comfort?
Isolation series have a conical‐shaped tip that provides maximum noise isolation for a superior audio experience. It is made from slowrecovery, heat‐activated memory foam which provides long‐term, ultra‐comfortable wear, and maximized sound dynamics—the improvements in the bass and the ability to block external noise may be the most noticeable benefits. This is the audiophile’s choice.
Sport series are made from “rugged”, semi‐breathable foam, which offers increased retention of the Momentum, CX 5.00 & CX 3.00
earphones in the ear canal during physical activities, and sweaty, or humid environments. It is made from slow‐recovery, heat‐activated
memory foam which provides long‐term, comfortable wear, and improved sonic performance. This model is not yet available.
Comfort series have a spherical‐shaped tip that provides maximum comfort and great noise isolation for all‐day comfort and excellent
audio experience. It is made from slow‐recovery, heat‐activated memory foam which provides the longest and most comfortable experience, and enhanced sound dynamics—the improvements in the clarity of the voices and instruments may be the most noticeable sonic benefit. This model is not yet available.
How do I know which size (Small, Medium, or Large) to use?
Comply™ ‐ Momentum, CX 5.00 & CX 3.00 tip size will make a difference in comfort, retention of the earphones in the ear canal, sonic performance, and noise reduction. The Comply™ tips must be compressed, before insertion, to properly seal in the customer’s ear canal. We have found the medium size is best to start with, or the same size as their silicone tip preference.
Assorted Sizes – if the customer is uncertain, sell them the discounted Small, Medium and Large pairs of Comply™ replacement tips, and
encourage them to try all three sizes for themselves and family members—as more than one size could potentially fit each ear canal.
How do I get the tips onto my Momentum, CX 5.00 & CX 3.00 earphone?
To get the Comply™ tips onto these specific Sennheiser earphones, firmly hold the tip between your thumb and forefinger, or first two fingers. Approach the sound port and place the bottom of the sound port into the core of the tip at a slight angle. Once the tip begins engaging onto the sound port, rotate‐up and straighten out the tip. Using your index finger flush on the front of the tip, push it straight on the earphone’s sound nozzle. Make certain to push the tip as far back on the Sennheiser sound nozzle, as it will go.
With the Comply™ tips on the device, prep the tip by rolling the tips down between your fingers to compress the foam. Then, insert the Sennheiser earphone with the compressed Comply™ tip into the ear canal, hold them in place for 15 to 30 seconds, the tips will use the heat of the ear canal to expand, and “try” to regain their original‐shape, thus conforming to the unique shape of the customer’s ear canal; this
will create a comfortable custom seal and fit.
Removing the Comply™ tips from the ear canal will require repeating the steps above, as the memory foam will expand to its original shape,
once removed from the ear canal.
How long will my Comply™ tips last?
To ensure peak performance, we recommend replacing Comply™ Foam Tips every 1‐3 months with daily use; or simply when they become
soiled or damaged, or if they are no longer conical in shape.
How do I clean my Comply™ tips?
Clean the Comply™ tips by gently wiping them with a clean, dry or damp cotton cloth. Use only water to dampen the cotton cloth. Do not clean tips with detergents or alcohol‐based cleaning solutions. Let the Comply™ tips dry completely before next use.
What’s the difference between the Comply™ models (100, 200, 400 & 500) and the custom Sennheiser Momentum, CX 5.00 & CX 3.00?
The differences in the Comply™ models are with the rubber‐like material inside the tip, called the “core”. The size and material, and how the core grips to the earphone’s sound nozzle determine earphone‐to‐Comply™ model compatibility.
The custom Sennheiser Momentum, CX 5.00 & CX 3.00 Comply™ tips have a special‐sized and material‐specific core that goes on easy, andstays on the earphones during all types of activities. There are NO other recommended core sizes of Comply™ tips that will fit these three Sennheiser models, and NO other Sennheiser models that will fit these custom Comply™ tips.
As new Sennheiser earphones come out, Comply™ will test them for compatibility and publish that data on the link below.
